How To Apply For Canadian Residency

By Essie Osborn

Migrating to Canada is a very big thing for anyone to do and it will take time before one can actually get a residency in that country. Now the good news here is that it is actually very easy for one to apply for citizenship in the country so he will be able to live and work there. So if one is interested in migrating, then here are some steps on how to apply for Canadian residency.

Now in order to begin, he has to first get an application kit that will enable him to get a Permanent Resident Card so he can live in Canada. Now if one is in this country at the moment, he can just get a kit from the immigration office of Canada. Now if he is currently not in the country, then he can just download one from the immigration website of Canada.

Once he has already done that, then he can already just fill out those application forms. Included in the form would be a list of some legal documents that one would have to provide in order to be able to get himself a Resident Card. Some of the things that he would be needing would be his passport and of course an ID picture.

Now after he has already filled up the forms that are found in the kit and gathered all of his documents, then he needs to pay a certain fee for the application. Now inside of the kit, he will find a payment form he has to attach his payment with. Once he has done that, then he may just pay via bank transaction.

Now the very last step in the process would be to simply mail these documents along with a photocopy of his passport and receipt. He has to do this if he does not stay in the country. Now it is easier if he is in the country at the moment as all he needs to do is to simply mail his form to the immigration office.

Now even if one does become a citizen in this country and already has a residency there, he still needs to follow some rules so that he can keep it. One of the most important rules is that he has to stay in the country for two out of every five years. Now he does not need to worry as the two years do not need to be consecutive as long as one stays in the country for seven hundred and thirty days in five years.

He also has to make sure that he does not do any crime otherwise he would be deported back to his original country. After that, he would already have a stained record in the Canada. Also, the next time that he would travel again, there is a big chance that he will not be allowed to enter.

Now just as long as he observes these rules and has his application approved, then he will already have a Permanent Residency Card. Now this card is as important as his passport when he travels back and forth. He has to show the card whenever he goes back to Canada.
