Circular Chaise Lounges Vs Square Lounges

By Roberta Mockler

For a long time, I have enjoyed the look of round furnishings. They are distinct and interesting without getting too complicated or costly. A round lounger like the Orbit Lounger is particularly interesting since it is really versatile and for that reason more functional.

This got me thinking about the pros and cons of round chaise lounges. Being aware of the differences can make a buying choice easier. Let's take a look at some of them below:.

Pro: Bonus Seating.

A chaise lounge can of course be utilized for relaxing in the sun. Nevertheless, when laid flat, many round lounges can provide additional seating. Actually, they appear like a huge ottoman rather than a chaise lounge, so they do not look out of place when utilized at a bbq or other event for additional seating.

Con: No Armrests.

Round lounge chairs generally have no armrests. While this might not matter to some people, to others, it is a downside. Armrests can be comfortable for putting your arms, but likewise can be used for attaching cup holders and various other accessories that put items nearby.

Pro: Better for Small Spaces.

Circular loungers fit much better in corners than the square variation. They use up less area, which can be important if you plan on utilizing the furniture indoors throughout the colder months. Yes, a square lounge can be used in a corner, but most likely not at the angle you want. The round shape simply gives you more flexibility and choices without needing to give up area.

Con: Less Accessible Replacement Components.

Considering that round chaise loungers are less typical, replacement cushions are occasionally more difficult to find. This is something to take a look at prior to buying a round furniture item. Are there replacement cushions? If you plan on utilizing your lounger long-term, you don't want to be using worn-out cushions or broken parts.

Pro: No Sharp Corners.

Round furniture does not have corners, clearly. If you have young children running around or have family members who excel at running into your sofas, chairs and tables, round items can be handy and less painful. You may get hooked on round furniture after you experience this benefit.

As far as comfort and function, a round lounge is practically the same as the square or rectangular style. Both recline alike, offer about the same amount of seating area and are typically the same in length.
