The Reasons For Pre Employment Screening

By Essie Osborn

People all around are looking for good jobs that they can retire from once they become senior citizens. Many employers will put each of these individuals through a pre employment screening in order to hire the best possible person. It is no secret that people who do not pass this inspection will not be hired. Every company across the globe tries to eliminate as many people as possible when it comes to the hiring procedure.

The average employer will more than likely look into someone's educational history, motor vehicle record, worker's compensation history, skills history, credit history and references. There is a slim chance that a sex offender will not gain work with many companies because of his/her past. Even though some of these people have reformed their ways they are still judged in a negative way.

Many employers will judge a person unfairly because of their credit history. Certain companies really look down on someone who has really bad credit. Sometimes a human being can destroy their financial credibility while they are attending college or some other school. This is the time that many young people will receive credit cards in the mail and they will use them to the limit.

The younger generation always has a problem when it comes to paying all of their bills and this is a major problem for their parents. In the future unpaid credit card bills will really damage a person's credibility within the work world. People may be denied work because of these credit card debts even though they cannot be forced to pay them.

Employers like to know that they are obtaining the brightest individuals who walk through their doors. This is one reason why managers will take the time to investigate someone's educational history. Unfortunately many people will lie and claim that they graduated from college or high school. By doing an investigation into this matter any employer can prove these statements to be true or false.

There are quite a few people who have used worker's compensation in the past which makes them a liability for any company. Employers do not like to employ an individual that has acquired many injuries while they were on the job. People who fall into this category are hazardous for the well being of any corporation and will continue to cause problems for future employers.

Nobody likes to employ someone who is a sex offender or a drug addict. There are many individuals who will never put their criminal background upon a resume when they are applying for work. It is very important to find out if someone has been involved in a sex crime in the past. If a person has molested children they are not able to work at any location that has minors within it.

A person who cannot stay away from drugs will have a very difficult time in finding work. Someone who abuses any type of illegal substance may want to stay away from jobs that are located with the police department, hospital, federal government or school system. All of these places have been known to do random drug tests.
